This practice is energising and strengthening in a nurturing way, drawing on traditional Hatha Yoga. Our teachers are experts at providing a welcoming, supportive and enjoyable experience for beginners. So, if you are new to yoga, don’t worry – you are in safe hands at Soham Yoga.

Yin Yoga

Yin is a slow-paced style of Yoga, where postures are held for between three and five minutes. To help you sink into the poses, your body is supported with props to allow you to relax, breathe into the stretch and allow gravity to do its thang. The aim is to bring about mental, physical, and as it stimulates our ‘Nadis’. It is suitable for beginners. Yin yoga offers a wealth of benefits that may help you to alleviate pain and tension, relieve stress and anxiety, and improve your overall well-being.

Breathwork and Meditation

“Pranayama is control of Breath”. “Prana” is a Breath or vital energy in the body. On subtle levels, prana represents the pranic energy responsible for life or life force, and “Ayama” means control.

So Pranayama is “Control of Breath”. One can control the rhythms of pranic energy with pranayama and achieve a healthy body and mind. Patanjali in his text of Yoga Sutras mentioned pranayama as means of attaining higher states of awareness, he mentions the holding of breath as important practice of reaching Samadhi. Hatha Yoga also talks about 8 types of pranayama that will make the body and mind healthy.

Hatha Yoga Stretch

Hatha Yoga Stretch is exactly as it states. A yoga class that is accessible to all levels. The style of the class will depend on the teacher so it could be Gentle flow with traditional Hatha elements or something less specific. All classes allow the students to find comfort and stability in all the postures and sequences. A beautiful class for everyone to enjoy
